  3. Tomcat under CageFS

    Hello!

We've faced a problem that may be affecting a lot of people, and may be a great solution and even a new product - When some application is running under Tomcat, isolation doesn't work.

Bringing to Tomcat the great solution you brought to Apache and SSH would be very interesting.

Hope you guys think of some workaround like this!

  5. API for usrname

The doc explains how to list a limits, but yes per UIDs but not usernames. Currently there is no way to list by usernames,

i suggest if we can list theme by username, as we can use the API with the same cpanel user .

  6. Create a lsapi.conf.rpmnew after updating package to get new config variables.

    Hi,

We'd like you to add a .rpmnew of lsapi.conf so we can see the new configuration variables and add them to our configs.

  7. wrap cPanel/DA background tasks (daily backup, updates, stats etc) in LVE

We've had great results wrapping some common cPanel background crons (like daily backups, system updates, stats processing etc) inside an LVE.

Assigning limits to these kinds of processes keeps more resources available for hosting accounts, resulting in more uniform performance and happier clients.

A way for setting this up from WHM or a special command-line tool would be very nice.

Suggestion for processes that could run in an LVE:
    - daily backups
    - system and OS updates
    - stats processing
    - spam/virus filter
    - many other system crons

The current way to do this is by adapting cPanel scripts and…

  8. Hide LVE Setting Interface on Reseller Privileges

Currently, LVE Setting is available in Reseller Interface on Account creation. I doubt they will use default setting. If the understand about LVE, I think they will customize the setting. I think, to prevent Abuse user from getting high resouce (especially CPU and RAM), reseller account could not change LVE setting that has been set by ROOT account.

  10. have user cron jobs run with lower limits by default

We've had some problems with users running demanding cron jobs, causing short burst of maxed out limits at intervals.

It could be useful to have user crons always run with lower limits, as most cron jobs are background tasks and don't need realtime peak performance. This would even out the resource usage, resulting in more even overall server performance.

This could be implemented in the following way:
crons always run at a set percentage of the LVE CPU and IO limits (for example 25%), unless configured otherwise.

  12. Support OptimiumCache over XFS filesystem

Centos 7 has XFS as default filesystem and OptimiumCache is only being supported for EXT4. Will be great you start supporting it for XFS which probably will be default in any new linux os versions. Thanx!

    Hi,

It would be great to see a cPanel 11.50 (or newer) AMI in the AWS marketplace now that CloudLinux 7 is supported by cPanel.

  17. MySQL Governor database quotas

A way to limit users database sizes, either the database size counts against their account quota (user quota within linux) or having the ability to have database size quotas. So the databases dont get huge (GBs) in size.

  19. LVE SPEED - add bursting flexibility when spare CPU cycles available

Add a way to configure LVE such that it will let users burst to use all (or a predetermined higher amount) of the CPU if it’s not being used by any other users, but if other users are needing it then apply the limit set by SPEED

  20. add support for AFS/OpenAFS. I don't believe it to be impossible to implement and would prove useful for academic and research centers.

add support for AFS/OpenAFS. I don't believe it to be impossible to implement and would prove useful for academic and research centers.

OpenAFS requires users/servers to have a kerberos ticket/afs token to access directories/files. This creates issues such as requiring the web server to have shared access to all users web directories. Being able to restrict resource usage per user, as well as directory access per user would be a huge help.
